North Carolina Museum of Art + The Zen Succulent

Saturday, May 30, 2015

Last night it was about 75 degrees, only mildly humid but occasionally a generous breeze would come through keeping the temperature and mood as zen as the terrarium building workshop taking place outside at the North Carolina Art Museum.
There wasn't a boring moment but the atmosphere was serene. The signature cocktail was being generously poured and Michael Jackson's voice was just loud enough to jam in the company of friends ready for laughing, drinking and terrarium building. It was truly the perfect way to transition into the weekend. The Zen Succulent continues to amaze us with all of their knowledge and talent working with terrariums and plants.
Co-owner Megan George was prepared to get her hands dirty as she walked a sold out event of 50 guests sharing step by step how to build the perfect terrarium. She offered tips on keeping your succulents alive to keeping the prickly cacti variation of your succulents from prickling you, all tips she shares in her upcoming book "The Modern Terrarium" which I can't wait to get my hands on!

I love, love, love succulents and air plants but I have quite honestly killed more than 15 of them, I hope these will last because this is the cutest terrarium ever! Thanks to Megan's expertise and tip sharing at yesterdays workshop I think I might be well equipped to give these sweet little thangs some longevity!

Thank you to The Zen Succulent for inviting Jade + Ginger to join in on the fun, we loved every second of it!
