It's called Puppy Chow! I had some variation of this dangerous little cereal based snack at a friend's house a while ago and I a year later I had a taste for it out of blue. I knew there was no way I could get the recipe from her so i tried to remember what she called so i could just google the recipe. So I went to the groce. and grabbed some Chex cereal and the recipe was right on the back of the box. But of course I had to make some minor modifications I added some toffee bits and banana slices. Ugh, trouble TRouUuble!

9 cups Chex cereal
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (you can try half white chocolate and half semi-sweet)
2 tablespoons toffee bits
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups confectioner sugar, divided
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 butter

1.) Melt your butter, chocolate chips, toffee bits, and peanut butter in a small sauce pan on low heat stirring until everything melts. (Toffee bits won't do much melting, so don't worry about them.)

2.) Add your vanilla to the melted mixture. Then pour melted mix over Chex cereal to coat evenly.

3.) Divide coated Chex into two separate 1 gallon Ziploc bags and pour in 3/4 cup of confectioner sugar in each bag. Shake your bag like shake and bake (hehe remember shake and bake?!?) Then place your bags in the fridge to cool.

Slice up your favorite fruit and add it to your own personal servings or mix in some of your favorite nuts. Kids are guaranteed to love this old school treat.
